Inter Poker’s Juha Helppi

InterPoker Juha Helppi

Inter Poker may be better known for their out of this world promotions rather than their professional poker players but online and live master Juha Helppi can regularly be found prowling the Inter Poker tables online looking for a game.

Juha started his career as a dealer but never dealt poker and since bursting to fame when he won the World Poker Tour event in Aruba defeating Kathy Liebert and Phil Gordon on the way to his biggest live win he is unlikely to deal poker in the future. He has also secured two other final tables on the WPT and has 13 cashes to his name at the World Series of Poker.

Juha is a very keen paintball player and has captained his team to the Finnish national championships twice and won the national championships five teams. He also played the first ever underwater poker tournament which he won to pick up the Caribbean Poker Classic Extreme Poker Bracelet. Controlling your breathing underwater is no easy task and clearly the Finnish ice man has nerves of steel.

Helppi has never won a World Series of Poker Bracelet but came very close in 2006. He was heads up with Phil Hellmuth who was gunning for his 11th bracelet. Helppi held A6 pre flop against the 55 of Hellmuth. When Hellmuth flopped the set it left Juha needing his flush draw to come to life. On the turn his dreams became reality but were cruelly denied when Hellmuth picked up the boat on the river to double up and eventually win the bracelet.

This week at InterPoker if you can find Juha on the tables you win 25 and there is another 75 if you can bust him as well. InterPoker are currently running the Wheel of Fortune Promotion which lands on something new everyday and today is find the pro day.
